I’m an American expat settled down in Kathmandu with experience teaching in Thailand, China, Mongolia, Taiwan, South Korea and Nepal. My educational background is in the field of Community Health and Development with studies completed at the B.A. and M.A. levels, primarily in India and Nepal, including student internships in village development projects. While working in Thailand I founded a small home for children located near Mae Sot in Tak Province (Here) with the help of volunteers from around the world (Here). I first visited Asia as a young recruit into the U.S. Navy in 1972 — serving in the Philippines, South Korea, and the U.K. until 1978. I was a late ‘bloomer’ and didn’t begin college until 1985 after traveling around the U.S. before realizing I wanted to go back to Asia. It is there I have finally come to feel at home on this crazy old ball of dirt we call Earth.
